Social Action/Tikun Olam

Social Action/Tikun Olam is all about making the world a better place. The social action aspect is essentially helping people in our communities or around the world. It can be anything from volunteering at a nursing home to collecting items to donate to making someone laugh and smile. The second part is tikun olam, which means repairing the world. At USY conventions we have TO events to raise money which we then allocate to an organization we choose at the beginning of the year. The tikun olam aspect is not only raising money, but it is also making the world a better place by recycling and reducing waste. As the Social Action/Tikun Olam Vice President, it is my job to incorporate both of these elements into USY conventions and oversee chapter SA/TOs.
